A captivating experience

Just got back from the Ironman world championships in Hawaii. It was a captivating experience to say the least. I was down there for a week & was able run from the energy lab into town & other parts of the run course, swim in the amazing swim start location, & got good idea of what the bike course is all about. The weather change was quite a shock for my body. Brad my coach/mentor/coworker & I ran every day we were down there to explore this unbelievable scenery. Us & the ladies stayed at some amazing hotels, ate some incredibly tasty Mahi Mahi/Catch of the day entrees & it was very pleasing. An amazing trip.

The event was extraordinary. To think that the race begins & 6:45a.m. for the professional triathletes & later in the day around 10p.m. when it's pitch black, age group athletes are coming down Alihi Drive to the finish line. It was awe inspiring & magical to see the expressions on all of these athletes faces throughout the entire event.

To see all the pro triathletes in person as opposed to Ironman DVDS was great.
